Safety Commitment Statement

Sandy Coor VFW Post 1433 and VFW Auxiliary 1433 are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for veterans, families, volunteers, guests, and members of the community participating in our programs, events, and activities.

Community Event Safety

Post 1433 and Auxiliary 1433 support safe operations during:

  • Public gatherings and volunteer operations

Safety considerations may include:

Arizona Heat Safety Awareness

Because many Post activities occur outdoors in Arizona, we encourage all members, volunteers, and guests to practice proper heat safety by:

  • Staying hydrated
  • Wearing appropriate clothing
  • Taking rest breaks
  • Monitoring weather conditions
  • Recognizing signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke

The safety and well-being of our volunteers and community members remains a priority during all outdoor operations.


Youth Protection and Family Environment

Post 1433 supports a respectful, family-oriented environment for:

  • Youth scholarship programs
  • Scouting partnerships
  • Community volunteer activities

Responsible Alcohol Service and Conduct

As part of maintaining a safe and respectful environment, Post 1433 supports responsible behavior and compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding alcohol service and consumption during Post functions and social activities.

Members and guests are expected to:

  • Conduct themselves respectfully
  • Support a safe environment
  • Follow Post rules and policies
  • Assist in protecting fellow veterans, members, and guests

Veteran Wellness and Support

Post 1433 supports the health and well-being of veterans and families through:

  • Veteran outreach and peer support
  • Community resource awareness
  • Wellness and fellowship opportunities
  • Suicide awareness and prevention support
  • Veteran assistance referrals
  • Community engagement and volunteerism

No veteran should feel alone, forgotten, or unsupported.


Emergency Awareness

During Post events and operations, members and volunteers are encouraged to:
